๐Ÿš€ RFClient – Version 1.0.0 is coming!

Good morning friends,

my next release is almost ready. ๐Ÿš€

It still needs a few bug fixes and small improvements, but overall, it is finished.

At this point, I also want to thank @auto, because he helped shape the idea, even though it didn't end up exactly the way he originally wanted it to.

For me, it is always difficult to design things in a way that appeals to as many players as possible while also making sure that everyone can use it, regardless of their playstyle.

Over the next few weeks, I will release the official version 1.0.0.

If you want to test the RFClient for free, feel free to download the launcher!

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ What is RFClient?

RFClient is a dedicated Rust launcher for Rust community servers.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Why should I use RFClient instead of Discord?

Players can join their community server and access various features without even having to start Rust.

  • Join their server directly with one click
  • Follow the live chat and reply to it
  • See who is currently online
  • Use an internal marketplace
  • Server owners can decide for themselves which features are available for their server – similar to a plugin

๐Ÿ‘‘ What does it offer me as a Server Owner?

You can write and schedule announcements alongside the Steam News.

You also get access to players who would normally be difficult to reach, and you get a better voting system than the traditional voting websites that are overloaded with advertisements.

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ Why should I use the voting system?

Every player can vote for your server every 24 hours.

The more votes your server receives, the better your position in the server list.

For the player, the whole process is much easier than with the competition.

First of all, they don't have to leave the game just to visit a website that is overloaded with advertisements and requires them to log in with Steam just to vote.

And if that wasn't enough, they then have to return to the game and use commands again to claim their reward.

With RFClient, the process is much easier.

Players can simply use /vote directly in-game or /rfc through the UI to vote and receive their reward.

๐Ÿ”Ž Why should players download another launcher when they can find servers through BattleMetrics or directly in Rust?

Because they can search specifically for servers that match exactly what they are looking for.

With the filter system, players can find servers that fit their preferred playstyle and interests.

This isn't just extremely useful for players, but also for server owners.

The player gets exactly the server they were looking for, while the server owner gets a player who is much more likely to become a regular player and stay.

The launcher is also interesting for players because it already provides a handful of important binds and what I call "Smart Moves."

No, they are not cheats.

Players can access different features and options in-game that, in most cases, would normally only be configurable through the console.

๐Ÿ’ฐ How is RFClient funded?

Of course, I hope that eventually I will be able to cover the server and development costs.

For players, the service is 100% free.

When Server Owners add their server to RFClient, they pay depending on the size of their community.

I deliberately chose this model because I believe that servers with more than 100 players are also able to cover their costs.

That's why I wanted the pricing to be fair for everyone.
